Director of Partnerships and Development, Creative Education Trust

Nimish joined Creative Education Trust’s Education Team in January 2021, initially supporting schools with collaborative curriculum development. Since then, he has made a significant contribution across the trust, developing strong relationships with school leaders, colleagues and external partners. As Director of Partnerships and Development, Nimish leads the development of strategic partnerships that create new opportunities for our schools, students and staff. Nimish also contributes to the trust’s long-term strategic planning, helping to identify future opportunities and ensuring that the organisation’s development is purposeful, sustainable and aligned with its mission, vision and values. He works across teams to connect partnership development, community engagement, communications and pupil recruitment with the trust’s wider strategic priorities. An experienced senior leader, Nimish has a particular interest in the use of educational research to improve teaching and curriculum implementation. He completed his NPQH with a focus on using cognitive science to improve outcomes for all pupils and is the author of Shimamura’s MARGE Model of Learning in Action. He regularly presents at national education conferences, sharing how research-informed approaches can support improvement in the classroom. Nimish is a member of the Confederation of School Trusts Policy Advisory Group, contributing to national discussions about education policy and system leadership. He also sits on the Trust Steering Committee for Steplab, supporting the development of evidence-informed professional learning at scale.

Keynote: Improving education outcomes for white working-class children

Despite sustained attention on standards and improvement across the education system, white working-class pupils continue to experience some of the poorest educational outcomes in England. Katie will draw on the findings from the Inquiry into White Working Class Educational Outcomes, to shed light on the complex conditions shaping these outcomes and propose how we, as a sector and as individual leaders, can address these entrenched challenges.

CAR: An opportunity for authentic collaboration

Representing voices from across the sector, the Curriculum and Assessment Leads Network (CALN) has recently published a collaborative think-piece in collaboration with CST to outline the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead in responding to the CAR. This session will explore the three tenets of our collective response: Be measured, Lean into the evidence, Collaboration is key. Never before has it been more important to work in partnership with those around us. This session will be a chance to share some of the CALN's early thinking about the implications of the CAR and to extend an open invitation to the sector to join us in the spirit of authentic collaboration.
