Linda Thompson leads Star Academies’ talent and professional growth strategy, supporting colleagues across its schools and central teams to develop their expertise and progress their careers. Her recent work focuses on establishing a coherent approach to professional growth for support staff, bringing together competency frameworks, appraisal, development opportunities and a digital talent platform. Since joining Star in 2012, Linda has held senior roles including principal and executive director of Star Institute, its professional development arm. She brings extensive experience of translating organisational priorities into practical approaches to staff development, recognising the contribution every role makes to school success.
