Richard is RSM’s Head of Academies, Further Education and Skills. He has over 25 years’ experience working in the education sector including providing financial due diligence and external audit services to academies.
Richard is Chair of the ESFA Academies finance and assurance Working Group 3, which focuses on development of the Academies Accounts Direction, reviewing outcomes from the main strands of ESFA assurance work and development of sector guidance.
Richard delivers firm-wide education sector technical training including providing regular topical updates for RSM’s academies team. In addition, he is a member of RSM’s education steering group who meet to discuss emerging issues in the sector and how they will impact on our clients.
Richard is also a board member of a local charity in Hull, which faces similar challenges to academy trusts.
