Becks is the Chief Executive of Lift Schools. An experienced school leader, she was previously director of secondary at Ark Schools. Prior to that, she worked for the Department for Education as the regional schools commissioner for south west England. Becks also worked at Oasis Community Learning, initially as a vice principal and principal in Bristol, before becoming a regional director and then national education director. Becks has a wide non-exec portfolio. She is a member of Council at the University of Exeter where she also chairs the Academic Governance Committee, a trustee at Jamie's Farm and a member of the MAT Advisory Board for the Youth Sports Trust and the Strategic Advisory Board for the Observatory for Mathematical Education.
