Louise Wolsey
Group Chief Strategy Officer and Deputy CEO LASER, London and South East Education Group
Louise Wolsey is the Group Chief Strategy Officer and Deputy CEO at LASER Education Foundation. She leads strategy, policy and research, marketing, communications and external affairs and inward investment teams, strategic development, and capital projects. Over the past five years, Louise has secured over £45 million of external funding, currently oversees a £70 million capital projects programme, including the construction of a new college in Greenwich. Louise holds a masters degree in school improvement and has a background in secondary education, local authority advisory services, and the charity sector. She played a key role in establishing the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust in 2008 and has spearheaded the embedding of social value principles into the Education Group’s strategy, delivering over 110 million of social value over five years, leading to award-winning national campaigns and significant recognition, including The Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Further and Higher Education in 2019, the National Social Values Public Sector Leadership Award in 2021, and the TES Trust of the Year in 2024. Louise is a trustee of Challenge Partners, a national school improvement charity, and has held roles as a trustee and chair of a multi academy trust. In the business and skills sector, she is member of the London Local Skills Improvement Advisory Panel, the South East London Chamber of Commerce, and the GLA’s Anchor Institution Working Group.
