Chess in Schools and Communities is a charity that runs chess lessons and clubs in over 380 schools nationwide. Children are taught by one of our trained tutors, progressing from the rules of the game to foundational tactics and strategy over a full academic year. Children acquire a life-long skill, opening up an affordable and enjoyable game of limitless depth. They also gain well-documented educational and social benefits through learning the game. Alongside direct teaching, we provide a range of support to over 3,000 schools: free chess sets, teacher training, access to online platforms, and use of our curriculum.
