The CST Annual Conference is on Thursday 7 November and Friday 8 November, at the ICC in Birmingham.

Registration starts from 8:30 on 7 November, with the main programme running from 10:00 to 17:00. There will be a drinks reception for all delegates from 17:15, and an optional conference dinner (at additional charge) from 20:00 to 23:00.

Day two’s main programme will run from 9:00 to 15:30.

The CST Annual Conference 2024 will take place at the International Convention Centre, Centenary Square, Birmingham B1 2EA in the city centre.

We recommend the use of public transport wherever possible to minimise the impact on the environment.

Arriving by train

The ICC is a short walk from the three main train stations in the city: Birmingham New Street station (closest), Birmingham Snow Hill station and Birmingham Moor Street station.

From Birmingham New Street head up to Victoria Square and follow the signs to Centenary Square, the ICC and Utilita Arena Birmingham. Enter Centenary Square and walk straight towards the ICC, passing the Library of Birmingham and Rep Theatre on your right.

Arriving by car

The ICC is located within Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone. If your vehicle does not meet the emissions standards, you may need to pay a fee.

Delegate tickets include a two day pass for the conference including keynotes and events in the main hall and workshops and symposia across 10 rooms. Tickets also include refreshments throughout the day and lunch. Delegates can also attend our networking drinks event at the end of day one.

Tickets do not include our gala conference dinner, for which there are limited places and an additional charge. Overnight accommodation is also not included.

In order to secure the group rate, all group bookings need to be made on the same form and submitted together. Where the number of individuals exceeds 10, please divide the participants into two groups of 3 or more by submitting two separate forms and submitting these together. If further individuals (fewer than 3) are added at a later date, these will be charged as individuals at the advertised individual rate.

The ICC is a non-residential venue and overnight accommodation is not included in your conference ticket.

Accommodation can be booked at exclusive rates through our venue booking agent MICE Concierge. There are several hotel options close to the ICC to choose from. By staying in one of the accredited hotels, you will be with other delegates, offering more opportunities to network and socialise outside of the main conference.

To view all exclusive rates and to book online, please visit the CST Annual Conference 2024 Official Accommodation site.

We aim to make our events as inclusive as possible.  If you have any dietary requirements or additional needs, then please add these at the point of booking wherever possible.

Alternatively please email conference@cstuk.org.uk as soon as possible so that we can work with the venue to make any necessary adaptations.

Our Annual Conference aims to be a friendly but professional event, and we recommend a dress code of smart casual or business clothes.

For delegates choosing to attend the optional conference dinner, the same applies – although many delegates do take the opportunity to change into evening wear for dinner.

Filming and photography may take place during the event for promotional and archival purposes by both CST and our partners; if you do not wish to be included please let a member of CST staff know. Please read our photography policy for full details.

Our events may also be reported on by the professional media and on social media.

By booking a place at the conference you agree that we may share your name, job title, organisation, and email address for the purposes of electronic registration and access to the conference app. We will enter into data sharing agreements with carefully selected partners who will facilitate these services on our behalf.

Please contact conference@cstuk.org.uk if you have any concerns.

Wherever possible we work with speakers and programming partners to make copies of presentations and workshop resources available to delegates after the event.

If you are no longer able to attend the event, we are happy to accept a substitute delegate from the same organisation. Please provide as much notice as possible for any name changes and contact us at conference@cstuk.org.uk – if there are any resulting dietary or other additional requirements, please let us know and we will do our best to meet these in the time available.

If neither you nor a colleague are unable to attend, we may be able to offer a full or partial refund. This depends on the amount of notice you can give, and reflects our fixed costs and potential to re-sell your place:

  • More than 12 weeks’ notice – full refund
  • Six weeks to 12 weeks’ notice – 50% refund
  • Fewer than six weeks’ notice – no refund

We may occasionally need to cancel or reschedule events due to circumstances outside of our control. If this is necessary, we will contact you to explain the reasons for the change and the options for your booking.

While we make every effort to publish accurate information, the event programme, speakers, and related arrangements are provisional and subject to change at short notice.

By booking a place at the conference, you agree to accept our Terms and Conditions for events.
