Sal is Deputy Headteacher at Goldsmith Primary Academy and Primary Digital Transformation Lead for Windsor Academy Trust, where he leads trust-wide approaches to digital transformation and supports schools to turn strategy into sustainable system change. At Goldsmith, Sal has helped shape a whole-school digital model that embeds technology into everyday teaching, learning, assessment and feedback. This work has contributed to the school’s recognition as an Apple Distinguished School, an Apple global case study and Digital Innovator of the Year at the Schools & Academies Show. Across Windsor Academy Trust, Sal works to build coherence, scale effective practice and support professional learning through the trust’s EmpowerED strategy. He has shared this work at Apple regional events, the Leadership for Mainstream Inclusive Practice Conference, through a Showbie case study, and by hosting Apple Showcase Days for educators and leaders interested in seeing digital practice in action.

Connected practice at scale: Strengthening school improvement through digital

This case study session explores how Windsor Academy Trust is using connected digital ecosystems to strengthen pedagogy, professional learning, and trust-wide school improvement. Through the trust’s EmpowerED digital transformation programme, contributors will reflect on how aligned digital strategy, staff development and communities of practice can support organisational capacity-building and more consistent implementation across schools. Discussion will include links to CST’s conceptual model of school improvement, alongside practical lessons from scaling connected practice across a trust. Ideal for directors of education, school improvement leaders, digital strategy leads and trust executive leaders.
