AQA Education
Since 1903, we’ve been rewarding achievement by designing and delivering fair and inclusive assessment. We do this because quality assessment is an essential ingredient for a good education.
We set and mark the papers for around half of all GCSEs and A-levels, but we’re more than an exam board. As an independent education charity we reinvest all of our income. From funding cutting-edge research, to supporting new insights that help raise the bar in assessment practice internationally, we’re always focused on fair and inclusive assessment and the positive impact it has on teaching, learning and society.

We started with the Great Teaching Toolkit: Evidence Review, which gave us the Model for Great Teaching - our curriculum for teacher learning.
With this curriculum in place, we went on to develop the Great Teaching Toolkit.
The Great Teaching Toolkit helps teachers to:
• Set specific goals for improving their classroom, where everyone’s voice is heard.
• Build understanding in areas that make the most difference.
• Develop skills through modelling, instruction, safe rehearsal and feedback.
• Embed habits with development cycles of deliberate practice, feedback and reflection.
We aim to improve education at scale, in a way that is authentic, sustainable and replicable.

We are an education publisher with over 150 years of expertise, now focused on helping schools navigate an increasingly complex landscape. As priorities like teaching quality, attainment, inclusion, data use and teacher development become more interconnected, schools need solutions that work together—not in isolation. We provide those solutions globally, combining digital platforms, high‑quality print resources, assessment, intervention and professional development. Our purpose is to unlock every learner’s potential, supporting whole‑school improvement through four connected areas: Teach, Learn, Assess and Enable. This framework clearly communicates the full breadth of what we do and how we turn educational ambition into sustained impact.
